Auntie Visited Me

We went to the Zoo on Sunday. I saw a cow, a donkey, a goat, elephants, pandas playing, and other animals. Here I am with Grandpa and Aunt Anita.
I used the phone in Anita's hotel room bathroom at the Mayflower Hotel in DC. I think I called HongKong.

My Aunt Anita and Uncle Marv were in DC this weekend. Marvie had a conference for pyschologists so Aunt Anita played with me on Friday-Sunday. She got me this really cute outfit: green cableknit sweater and khaki skorts with tights. Here I am after taking a bath on Saturday wearing it. I had to take a bath because I was stinkie. I got a stomach virus on Wednesday from my friends. I threw up all day Thursday and Friday. I guess in the middle of the night I vomited everywhere. Mom has to get the carpet and a chair steam cleaned. The pillows are now in the trash. We didn't sleep too well Thur or Friday. And I have very bad diarrhea. Now my bum is all red and hurts. Mommie says the virus made acid that burned my bottom. Sorry this is graphic, but everyone needs to know that I am in pain and not smiling a whole lot right now. The nurse told mom to make some concoction to help me heal, but it isn't working so I heard mommie whispering that the doc wants to see me on Monday. No way. She can't make me go. Ok, back to my fun weekend with Aunt Anita and Grandpa.
Anita took mom shopping for a belated birthday gift. I got to shop too.

So much to do, people to see

Mommie here. Its the 3 Muskateers again: Anna, Mackenna, and Alex! I am so thankful for Juna taking pictures every day with my pocket camera. I admit that downloading the photos is sometimes the highlight of my evening (post-Alex bedtime). I love to see how much fun Alex is having, where she is going during the day, and "watching" her grow. It makes me feel like I am not missing as much while at work. At 20 months, when I walk through the front door at the end of the day, she shrieks "Mommmie!!" and runs towards me...and envelopes me in a huge hug. If it were possible to bottle my heart swelling joy and profound contentment at that moment, I could make a fortune. It's the best feeling in the world. :) Then there is the angst of watching her lay down in the middle of the floor at Williams Sonoma (not crying or yelling, just pouting) on Sunday afternoon because I asked her not to play with the BREAKABLE glass bowls while I was paying for cake pans. Ah the joys of parenthood. I just keep hoping I have the right words to create necessary boundaries, instill self-esteem, and guide us both through toddlerhood.

Hylene (Juna's sister) helps out with the girls as she feeds her 4 month old daughter Elizabeth.
Friday concerts in the park

Yes, Alex seems to be getting more attached to her Binkie. I keep telling myself when she is 2 we're going "cold turkey". Unfortunately, she doesn't have a blankie or teddy bear. Not that I haven't bought her 4-5 of each with the hope that she'll transition to either.
I love the pictures where they touch each other and interact. I wonder what is going through their very active brains.
Karen plays her flute and Alex tries to imitate her.

Buddies

Mommie here. Juna took these photos at the McLean Community Center on Friday. Anna, MacKenna and Alex hanging out just being little girls. I love that Alex sees them several times a week and obviously likes them...they babble at each other and serve as a great reminder that friendship and bonding starts early!!

Labor Day Meanderings

We chilled out on Labor Day weekend at home. Mom and I went for walks, to the pool and even painted our fingernails! Well, mom painted 4 of my fingers and 4 of hers. I held my hand out as we were walking to let the nailpolish dry too, just like mommie said. OPI's "My Chihauha bites" is orangish/pink/red. Here I am walking my babydoll.
We saw a beautiful monarch butterfly! It was yellow.

I am ready to go to the park. Let's go.
We played inside the McLean Community Center because it was too hot outside.
