Happy Thanksgiving

We spent Thanksgiving at Aunt Kathie and Uncle James' house in Hamilton. All of my mom's dear friends were there. Jack, Emma and Chandler played with me for hours! Emma even set up her old doll house for us to play with and then we dance - n - sang for a while.
Here we are eating in the "sun room".
The food was very very yummy. James is a terrific cook. The turkey weighed 22 pounds!
Chandler and Cole ham it up. Cole was Homecoming Prince this year and Chandler was a Varsity Football Cheerleader....I can't wait to learn what all that means, but it sounds cool.
Emma is back from her year-long Broadway stint in "Gypsy". I'm glad, cause we missed her!
Tess is silly just like me.
Jack built a cave under the coffee table and we hid from everyone.
Here I am playing with the neato Fisher Price house. Emma gave it to me to take home with all the people, a pool and tons of furniture. I can't wait to play with it again!
Me and mommy wore our matching dresses from Aunt Caryn.

Then I put my pajamas on because it was late when we left. I love Thanksgiving.

Getting Ready for Holidays

We went to a Tot-n-Shop event at the Junior League Capital Collection show this Saturday with Caryn, Melissa and Matthew. Mr. Skip played the guitar and we got to dance. We also did some shopping for holiday gifts.
I jumped too! I like standing by the stage and watching all the action.

Uncle Peter read some of his books to us! My favorite is the Nantucket Cat.
Wilson the White House Mouse was there too. Later we chatted with Aunt Cheryl too and she gave me her latest book.
Ya Ya took me to the mall's playground area. Ya Ya Carmen's little boy (can't remember his name) has a crush on me and is always hugging me.

Elmo slippers and playing with new "castle"

Mom here. Alex is doing pretend play with all her toys now and its really cute. We're having lots of whining and defiant moments, but I'm trying to remember the parenting tips about diversion, acknowledging her frustration. "Yes, I can see you are upset (sad, frustrated, angry) because Mommie won't let you throw your rice and chicken, play with Cooper's water/food bowls, be held while I'm taking hot biscuits from the oven, sleep in mom's bed every night, stay up past 8:30pm, put your coat on before going outside, ditto for hat when its really cold, pull Cooper's tail, write on the walls......
It was time this weekend to purchase some new toys. She really didn't have much suitable for a curious 2 year old. I'm sure she'll get more for Xmas and her birthday.

Alex has had a bad cold or allergies for a few days so she's hacking, sneezing and generally pretty grumpy...but loves her Fisher Price Castle with Little People that we got on sale at Toys R Us. What did parents do before mass produced toys?

Apple juice spills easily but luckily doesn't stain!

I came home from work on both Monday and Tuesday nights greeted by a little girl wearing Elmo slippers. I'm not sure when baby Alexandra left, but toddler-little girl Alex is chatting up a storm. "Digger, cars, waffle, zebra, funny, sorry, happy, chicken, castle, horse" She's probably well over 200 words now and I'm learning some I never knew before too.

Our NYC Weekend with Family

We went on an airplane to see Aunt Anita and Uncle Marv. I loved flying and am a good traveler. We had 3 whole seats to ourselves on the flight up which meant I could sit like a big girl in my own seat. I put my own seatbelt on too. Here I am watching a DVD.
Anita gave me hats and necklaces to play with!
I had more fun sitting inside the hatbox.

Uncle Mikey threw me around and I laughed a lot. He is soooo silly!

Even Uncle Marv tried on a hat! He's going to use this photo for an upcoming lecture he's giving where he is a professor.
We also went to the playground. I didn't want to leave!
Mom made me wear my flower hat at first because it was cold.

We went to the Central Park Zoo and saw the seals eating dinner. One of the seals really liked me and tried to give me a fish.
Anita took this picture of me and mom watching the show through the aquarium. Look how close we were to the seals!
Then we visited the petting zoo. I touched a goat, saw pigs, llamas, ducks, peacocks and other animals until they closed.

On the plane ride back home I browsed through the airline magazines, played with my tray table and tried to use the phone that the flight attendants use to talk to the pilots.

I also had my binkie.
