Miscellaneous

It me again. I finally downloaded the semi-recent pictures that Juna has taken with our pocket camera. She and the other nannies snap away when they are out and about or hanging at home, I love it. Alex looks so happy and engaged with the other kids who have become her friends and I am so grateful for that. Alex amazes me by how much she has learned. We went to the park briefly today and there is a jungle gym that has the alphabet on it...when I started pointing to the letters and saying each one, she knew a lot of them!

Strawberry-faced Alex with Ya Ya Juna. So happy. Alex and Hylene's daughter Elizabeth (10 months old)
Elizabeth is adorable. She visits several afternoons a week while Hylene works at an urgent care center.

We stopped off at Juna's apt on Xmas eve to give out gifts. Everyone was in good spirits.

We had a warm snap a month ago when it 74 degrees (hence Alex is decked out in short sleeves). Yesterday it was 18. Seems like a long time ago since this photo was taken.

Alex's 2nd Birthday Party!!

Mom here. My little baby is now a little toddler. We celebrated Alex's birthday with an Elmo party at the McLean Community Center with nearly 20 of her friends.
What a difference a year makes. She now LOVES cake (see below). And can eat by herself with a fork sitting in an adult chair.

She wasn't really thrilled with the concept of blowing out the birthday candles. McKenna who is a few months older has clearly got it down and helped!

Ya Ya Hylene with baby Elizabeth who turns 1 in April. Alex loves Elizabeth.
Noah came to the party too with mom Destin. At 15 months, he's eating pizza like a champ.
Destin and Noah.

Miss McKenna kept an eye on the birthday cake.

The Birthday Girl!

Alex's other BFF, Anna, who is moving back to Iceland in August. :(

Aidin, Alex, Ya Ya May and Molly sang songs.

Sports Bounce

Mom here. Way back on Dec 30, 2008 I took my Herndon team to the Ashburn Sports Bounce for some team building with our kids. I am just now uploading some pix. Jayden, Alex, and Pierce had a lot of fun...so did the grown-ups.

Jayden was a pro! Kelly had the excuse of being 6 months pregnant and did not have to slide with him.

Jujim helped Alex on the big slides

Pierce went on every single slide and bounce...At 4, he is the oldest of the group.

Tricycle!

Mom here. My generous friend Ellen gave Alex an incredible pink tricycle! Alex loves it! She hasn't quite figured out how to pedal yet, but I am confident that by Springtime (and warmer weather) she'll have grown enough to touch the pedals and "get it". We are very grateful to Ellen. By end of May, we'll have video of Alex tricycling around the neighborhood!
