We took our first trip to Disney World for a long weekend with Marianne (who deserted her husband for a girls only weekend) and her 13 year old daughter Kelley. Riding on the airplane was part of the "fun" (and getting Cinnabons for breakfast).
Planes, trains, automobiles, and buses. Alex LOVED riding on the Disney bus.
Animal Kingdom Lodge pool was terrific for little ones. Alex didn't even wait for the luggage to arrive with her bathing suit.
We had a "Savannah View"...here is a giraffe outside the balcony, just munching on a tree. Yum.
Back to the pool. Disney provides life vests too.
We got up for the special "Sunrise Safari" tour on Sunday morning. Someone wasn't thrilled until we got on the bus! Although getting Fruit loops was a special treat that brought smiles.
Here we are on Safari! All the pleasures of Africa, without the travel and jet lag.
Love the giraffes
Daddy giraffe and baby giraffe frolicked in the sunshine.
Baby Elephant is about 6 months old with big sisters
Nice horns.
Dino ride!
On Monday, Alex and I went to the Magic Kingdom while Kelley and Marianne went Outlet Shopping. Here is Alex on the Carousel. We also rode the Tea Cups.
On her first roller coaster..the BarnStormer.
Train around the park was fun. The weather was a perfect 72 degrees.
Alex spent a long time playing in Pooh's Corner and house.
Here we are waiting for the Celebration Parade to begin. She loved it.
We both got tired around 3pm, so we hit the candy store. Multi-colored, sticky face was very happy as we waited in line for the "It's a Small World" ride. I was really impressed with it and then couldn't get the song out of my head for hours.
At the start of the boat ride. Well worth the wait!
Final dinner with Kelley before catching an early flight back to DC. Fun was had by all. Next time I'll take more pictures. I was enjoying myself too much and forgot to get my camera out most of the time!
